Autumn Conference Motions

Join us online for the Rejoin EU Party Autumn Conference on Saturday 11 October 2025, from 10:00am to 4:30pm. Please note that the deadline for submitting amendments is 1 October.

The following motions will be up for discussion at the conference. Supporters are welcome to submit amendments, suggest alternative motions, and take part in open, constructive debate. These motions are simply a starting point for conversation, not the final word.

Motion: The UK Economy and the Cost of Living Crisis

This Conference Notes

  • That recent public opinion, as gathered in our open meeting, has shown the economy and cost of living to be the top concern for our supporters and the public.
  • That inflationary pressures and rising costs have significantly impacted household budgets across the UK.
  • That the UK’s departure from the EU has had devastating economic repercussions which are now felt more acutely in the cost of living.

This Conference Believes

  • Rejoining the EU could help alleviate some of the economic pressures and improve the overall stability of the UK economy.
  • That addressing the cost of living crisis should be a top priority for the party, emphasizing solutions that reconnect the UK to European markets.

This Conference Requests the Executive

  • To develop and promote a policy platform that highlights the economic benefits of rejoining the EU.
  • To launch a campaign focusing on practical measures to reduce the cost of living, and to engage with experts on how renewed EU relations could play a role.

Motion: Supporting the NHS and Healthcare Resilience

This Conference Notes

  • That the NHS continues to face significant pressures in terms of funding, staffing, and resources, especially in the wake of recent public health challenges.
  • That maintaining a strong and resilient healthcare system is essential for the well-being of all UK citizens.
  • That closer collaboration with European health frameworks and standards could provide valuable opportunities for sharing best practices and resources.

This Conference Believes

  • That the NHS is a cornerstone of British society and must be safeguarded and strengthened for future generations.

  • That reconnecting with European partners on immigration frameworks could help create more coherent and humane policies, ensuring that the UK remains a welcoming place for those who seek to build a life here.
  • Restoration of freedom of movement will greatly improve the quality of UK society as a whole
  • Returning to the Dublin agreement is an essential part of resolving the current conflicts on immigration.

This Conference Requests the Executive
