Golders Green by-election
Vote Brendan Donnelly on February 16
Our candidate
Brendan Donnelly
Brendan is a former Conservative Member of the European Parliament, who left the Conservative Party in 1999 in protest against its anti-European policies. Since then, he has stood in the European elections of 1999, 2009 and 2014, always for pro-European parties.
Before entering politics, Brendan worked as an official in the Foreign Office, the European Parliament and the European Commission. He now runs a pro-European think tank and has written widely about the EU and Brexit.
“If you want to protest against the problems and loss of rights and freedoms Brexit has caused, please vote Rejoin EU in the Golders Green by-election on February 16. Send a message to the mainstream parties that Brexit isn’t working. They must reject Brexit and back this country’s renewed place in Europe.”

A letter from the Rejoin EU Party to EU citizens in Golders Green
Dear European voter,
As an EU citizen in Golders Green, you can vote in the forthcoming by-election in the ward on February 16. We are writing to urge you to vote for the Rejoin EU Party, a party unlike the other parties standing in this election.
The name of our party tells you all you need to know about us. We regard Brexit as a historic mistake, based on lies. The longer we remain outside the EU, the more damage will be done to our country, economically, politically and constitutionally. We must re-join as soon as possible.
Being a European citizen may make you particularly aware of and affected by the disruption Brexit is causing – such as the uncertainties inherent in the government’s so-called “settled status” scheme; family difficulties caused by restrictions on freedom of movement; fewer opportunities for Britons to study and work abroad; and new form-filling for British exporters and importers.
None of the “mainstream” political parties have stood by the millions of European citizens who have contributed so much, economically and culturally, to British society.
Politicians care only about votes. If you want to protest against the problems and loss of rights and freedoms that Brexit has caused, vote Rejoin EU in this election and send a message to the mainstream parties. They must reject Brexit and back this country’s renewed place in Europe.
Best wishes,
Brendan Donnelly (candidate)

The Rejoin EU party is campaigning to re-join the EU because we believe the UK belongs at the heart of Europe and re-joining is the only way to solve the problems Brexit has created. Brexit is broken and it’s breaking our country too. All the promises on which Brexit was sold to the electorate in 2016 are now increasingly exposed as fantasy. Far from bringing the promised reduction in red tape and bureaucracy and providing £350m a week for the NHS, Brexit makes trading with the crucial European market more complex, difficult and expensive and threatens to reduce funding for public services. Sectors such as farming, fisheries & financial services, supposed to benefit from Brexit, now face an uncertain future. If you agree Brexit is making our country poorer, less tolerant and less united, join us and send a strong message to Westminster that you want your EU membership back, along with all its freedoms and benefits.
