| Being retired, in 2015 I sold my home in Dorset & had a Dutch barge built. It was launched on the Thames in October! I spent the winter in Penton Hook marina near Staines. I was due to leave the UK, 2 days after the referendum to move with my boat to Belgium! The € to the £ before was about 1.3, & it dropped almost immediately to about 1.1. It has been almost as low as parity, but the maximum has been 1.2, so in that 10 years I have lost a fortune just on the exchange rate, not to mention all the extra costs caused by Brexit! |
