October 31, 2025 News release Several local councils are holding ward by-elections in December and we’re seeking candidates to stand in them. The by-elections in question are in South Ribble in Lancashire, Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire and Darlington. We’re increasingly keen to stand candidates in these and other forthcoming by-elections because we believe it’s the best way to counter right-wing populists such as Reform UK and put pressure on Labour to adopt a more pro-EU stance. We’re also looking for prospective by-election candidates across the country, particularly for the local council elections next May, so please do contact us if you’re interested. To be eligible, you need to live/be registered to vote in the areas covered by the councils involved, although you don’t need to live in the wards in which the elections are taking place. We can offer help/advice to register by the various nomination deadlines if we have people prepared to stand. If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please let us know by filling in the volunteering form here. For more details about standing as a Rejoin EU Party candidate in these elections or others, see the section “standing as a candidate” here. Information about the three by-elections in December is available here, here and here. You can also find out about other forthcoming contests by visiting https://whocanivotefor.co.uk/ |
