*Nigel Farage must explain his views on our security amid Presidents’ Trump and Putin negotiating a change to Ukraine’s frontiers*
John Stevens, former MEP and Rejoin EU Party candidate in the Runcorn & Helsby by-election this Thursday May 1st, said:
“Reform UK leader Nigel Farage must explain whether he supports US president Donald Trump’s peace plan to make all European states, including Britain, recognise the territory Russian president Vladimir Putin has occupied by force of arms in Ukraine as legally being now part of Russia.
“This is to break the principle which has prevailed since 1945 that frontiers between European countries should not be altered by war. In other words, the gravest imaginable threat to the rules-based system which is the cornerstone of European security.
“Reform’s defence policy seems to be based upon what is in the interest of the United States and the Russian Federation, in line with the “might is right” principles now coming from Washington and Moscow, not those of the UK whose security depends upon the wider peace of the European continent of which we are part.”
