*A vote for Labour is a vote for never-ending Brexit chaos, the Rejoin EU Party says* July 3rd, 2024 Anyone who votes Labour tomorrow is voting for “indefinite estrangement” from the EU and endless Brexit chaos, the Rejoin EU Party says following Labour leader Keir Starmer’s comments that the UK won’t re-join the EU in his lifetime. Rejoin EU Party leader Brendan Donnelly, a former MEP and the party’s parliamentary candidate for Finchley & Golders Green <therejoineuparty.com/general-election-2024/candidates/>, said: “Starmer’s remarks that we will not re-join the EU in his lifetime are either completely dishonest or ill-informed, or a betrayal of the national interest for short-term electoral gain. “Anyone who votes Labour tomorrow is voting for indefinite estrangement from the EU. His claim that Brexit can be made to work is nonsensical. Anyone who cares about the UK’s position in Europe should vote tomorrow for the Rejoin EU Party if possible, or otherwise for the most pro-EU candidate.” John Stevens, the Rejoin EU Party’s candidate for Kensington & Bayswater <therejoineuparty.com/general-election-2024/candidates/kensington-john-stevens/>, said: “Presumably, when Starmer talks about his ‘lifetime’, he must mean his political lifetime, which by this thoughtless intervention he has inevitably reduced dramatically. “For if the coming Labour government wants to avoid rapid failure in office, it must generate substantially more growth in our economy and that’s only possible if we re-join the EU. “All EU experts agree the UK won’t be able to negotiate any meaningful improvement to the terms of the current Trade and Co-operation Agreement unless we commit to re-joining and that all interim arrangements between where we are now and full membership are grossly inferior to that. “What Starmer should do to escape the corner on the EU into which he has boxed himself is to announce as soon as possible an official, independent expert inquiry into Brexit and what we should do about it without any restrictions upon its terms of reference. This will inevitably recommend re-joining.” For further comment, please call Brendan Donnelly on 07956 379129 or email the party at admin@therejoineuparty.com *Visit our website at **www.therejoineuparty.com <www.therejoineuparty.com/>**, **follow the party on Twitter at @rejoinp and read our 2024 General Election manifesto at therejoineuparty.com/manifesto-2024 <therejoineuparty.com/manifesto-2024>* *The Rejoin EU party is campaigning to re-join the EU because we believe re-joining is the only way to solve the multiple problems Brexit has created. Brexit is broken and it’s breaking our country too. All the promises on which Brexit was sold to the electorate in 2016 were nonsense. Far from reducing red tape and providing £350m a week for the NHS, Brexit makes trading with the crucial European market more complex, difficult and expensive and threatens to reduce funding for public services. If you agree Brexit is making our country poorer, less tolerant and less united, join us and send a message to Westminster that you want your EU membership back, with all its freedoms and benefits.* *Promoted by Richard Hewison on behalf of Brendan Donnelly and the Rejoin EU Party, 86-90 Paul St, London, EC2A 4NE.*
